Privacy Policy & Terms

Last updated July 27, 2026. This page covers both our privacy policy and our terms of use in one place, since Sharp Eye Club is a small site and we'd rather you actually read it than skim past two separate walls of text.

What we collect

If you just play without signing in, we don't collect anything personal. Your streak, best time, and puzzles solved are stored only in your browser's local storage, on your device.

If you sign in (with Google or an emailed sign-in link), we store your account's user ID, your email address, and your gameplay stats (streak, best time, puzzles solved) in our database (Google Firebase / Firestore) so your progress follows you across devices.

During sign-in, you're separately asked two yes/no questions: whether you want your stats shown on the public leaderboard, and whether you want occasional emails from us about new puzzles, books, and site updates. Both are optional, off by default until you say yes, and changeable anytime on the leaderboard page. If you opt into the leaderboard, your display name and stats become publicly visible there. Your email address is never shown publicly regardless of either setting.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics tool. It doesn't track you individually or across other sites, and doesn't use cookies or fingerprinting.

Third parties

We use Google Firebase for sign-in and data storage, and Cloudflare for analytics. Our Shop page links to Amazon; we're a participant in the Amazon Associates affiliate program and earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you (details on the Shop page). We don't sell your data to anyone.

Your rights

You can change your leaderboard and email preferences anytime on the leaderboard page. To have your account and stored data deleted entirely, email us at misterburneriscool@gmail.com and we'll remove it.

Who this site is for

Sharp Eye Club is built for adults and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Terms of use

Sharp Eye Club is provided as-is, for fun. Puzzles, artwork, and the Gary Sharpe character are owned by Sharp Eye Club; don't republish or redistribute them without asking. Streaks and leaderboard rankings are just for bragging rights and carry no monetary value. We may update this page, the puzzles, or the site itself at any time without notice.
